Srinivasa “Venky” Venkataraman

An experienced software executive, Srinivasa “Venky” Venkataraman has a strong track record of building successful teams and companies. Most recently he was the CEO of Appstream (acquired by Symantec). While at AppStream Venky recruited a talented team, increased revenue several fold and established partnerships with large companies such as Intel, Dell and Symantec. He was also advisor to the executive team at Kidaro which was acquired by Microsoft.

Venky is an advisor to companies such RingCube and Bittorrent. In his role he helps these companies with their product and business development strategies.

Prior to AppStream, Venky served as Vice President of R&D at Zone Labs where he helped develop the leading personal and distributed firewall technology, now installed on over 70 million PCs worldwide. The Zone Labs enterprise product was installed on more than 800 sites over a two year period, and the company was acquired by Checkpoint software.

Venky was VP of Development at Senterprise where he managed product strategy. Prior to Senterprise, Venky has also held management positions at Autodesk focusing on software development for AutoCAD as well as e-commerce and e-business.

Venky has a Master of Science degree with a Mechanical Engineering major from Purdue University.

Outside of work Venky is an avid golfer, a long distance runner and a cricketer. He lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife of 20 years and 2 wonderful children.
