Every company should have a business plan regardless of size or growth rate. A business plan should be a dynamic document that takes advantage of both micro and macro changes in the market. It explains who you are, why you are in business, what you do, how you do it, where you operate, how you will generate profits, who your customers are, and why your business is important. It also serves to communicate the company’s value proposition to employees, advisors, partners, customers and investors. Business plans are the means by which companies “get in the door,” of investors and the documents are heavily scrutinized by investors –particularly in today’s financing environment.
